It’s finally spring and Artifax is filled with new and interesting clothing from our recent trip to Thailand & Cambodia. Traveling to the Golden Triangle region where Thailand, Cambodia and Laos meet, we found extraordinary jackets from the Hill Tribes villages. Blending exquisite, vintage textiles with new construction, these one-of-a-kind jackets are a treasure.

Our windows are full of the whimsical dresses from the recent Trashion-Fashion show, a runway fashion show featuring clothing made entirely from recycled materials. The grand prize winner, “The Last Straw,” an elegant special occasion gown, was designed by mother/daughter team Jan Lippold and Melissa Spooner using Cocktail Straws, Emergen-C packets, Moiré and Tulle fabrics, Shower Curtain, Paper clips and found jewelry. This dress is beyond Chic!

The “California Dress” made entirely of folded California maps was created by the 6th grade class of the Crescent Montessori School and designed by Karen Niehoff, Mary Padilla, and Josaphine Padilla. We hope you’ll come by and see first hand these ingenious inventions.
